This scarce Weller Raceme ball vase stands 5.5" high by 6" in diameter, a very nice flattened sphere form with a tapered and rolled rim. This line originated in the early 1930s as a Novelty line, along with sister lines Cretone, Geode and Stellar. These lines were decorated by the likes of Mae Timberlake, Hester Pillsbury and Dorothy England, among others. This one is signed by Hester Pillsbury on the lower side 'HP'.  The ground color is a soft mat Art Deco glaze combination in blue and black with a hand painted bouquet of blossoms on two sides. It is marked 'Weller Pottery' in script on the base and it is in excellent condition, with a good restoration to a hairline at the rim.
