This Walt Schmidt stoneware vessel stands 11.5" high by 6" in diameter.  This vase has a bottle form, with an Asian-inspired motif, including strap handles and a central medallion with a Kanji symbol.  Walt Schmidt is an Indiana artist who has been throwing pots for more than 30 years.  He continues to produce work in his studio, Hickory Tree Studios in Bloomington.  This vessel is hand thrown, with a subtle ribbing on the body.  The glaze is a handsome rich brown color with nice accent glazes.  This bottle vase bears Walt Schmidt's cipher, as shown in the photos.  It is in mint condition, no apologies.  This stoneware vessel makes a very handsome presentation.
