This very handsome Tuscan-style Italian tile measures 8" square and it is set in an 11" wood frame with a wood veneer back, which provides secure housing for this large tile. The tile is hand painted with a design fitting for a dining room, pantry or kitchen. The design, which is a classic Italian motif shows a fish, lemons and garlic by a chowder pot, with a jug nearby. The colors are beautiful on this rather substantial tile. It may be marked on the backside, but we did not disassemble it to check. It has a wire for hanging. Given its design and frame, we imagine this tile dates to c1940s. It is in original condition, with just minor handling wear to the frame.
