This Van Briggle low bowl stands 1.75" high by 4" in diameter, with a 3.5" opening at the rim. It has a small, low bowl form. There are carved Rosettes in a band surrounding the collar, which is a a nice early Arts & Crafts design. It is glazed in Van Briggle's signature early light blue glaze, which thins to show the clay color, accenting the design beautifully. This bowl is well marked on its base with the cojoined AAs, and it bears the name 'VAN Briggle', Colo Sprgs, dating it to c1907-1912, according to Scott Nelson's Van Briggle reference book. The shape number appears to be 627, which was a Martha Patton design from 1907. It is in original condition, no apologies. This vessel is a nice early example of Van Briggle Pottery, in a nice early glaze.
