This scarce and unusual Roseville Mock Orange ewer stands a monumental 17" high by 6" across the handle by 5"in diameter. It has a very tall and slender, yet statuesque Mid-century Modern form, with an exaggerated pouring spout, and a side handle. This ewer is adorned with beautifully crisp blossoms, in a creamy white, which 'mock' orange blossoms, hence the name. The blossoms are flanked with rich green leaves on each side, and embossed branches beneath the blossom sprays. It is glazed in a ground of lush orange to mellow yellow, finishing to a blushed orange at the base, simply a stunning presentation. This ewer is marked 'Roseville, U.S.A., 918-16, MOCK ORANGE', and guaranteed to be vintage Roseville from c1950. Roseville Pottery was sold soon after the production of this line, and while some refer to 'Connecticut Roseville Mock Orange', this ewer was produced in Zanesville, Ohio. It is in original condition, with no-harm generalized factory crazing.This scarce Roseville ewer makes a fabulous Mid-century Modern presentation.
