This Roseville Imperial I (Textured) urn stands 4.5" high by 12" across the handles by 10" in diameter, a very large pot. The Imperial I line, introduced in 1921, has a number of interesting-shaped vases and baskets, and wallpockets, and this is one of them. It has a handsome and rather organic handled form, with a broad base, like a low jardiniere in an urn presentation. It is adorned with a simple Arts & Crafts leaf, vine and grape motif. The mold and color are excellent. The ground has a pebbled textural effect, which accents the design nicely. It is glazed in a rich mocha brown glaze, washed in a darker brown and green, a very handsome presentation! It is unmarked, but guaranteed to be vintage Roseville from the early 1920s. It is in factory original condition, with the usual glaze nuances common to this line, but no apologies. This vessel makes a very handsome presentation.
