This Rookwood Standard Glaze handled vase stands 6" high by 3.5" in diameter, 1.5" at the rim. It has a shapely and classic form, a vase with one side handle. William Watts Taylor designed this form shape 657D. It was decorated by Miss Eliza C. Lawrence, whose tenure at Rookwood was 1900-1903. She decorated this vessel with seed pods and leaves in exacting precision. The glaze colors are gorgeous in shaded deep chocolate brown over a honey golden amber and complementary colors in the decoration. This beauty is well marked and dated 1901, along with its shape number 657, designation 'D'. Lawrence's initials E.C.L. are noted on the base, along with the Rookwood logo. This beautiful vessel is in original factory condition, with a couple of minute surface scratches. The shadows in the photos are from camera glare, the glaze finish is very uniform.  This handled vase makes a beautiful presentation!
