This Rookwood Standard Glaze vase stands a demure 5" high by 3.25" in diameter, 1.25" at the rim. It has a small, yet statuesque form. It was decorated by Miss Sadie Markland, whose tenure at Rookwood was 1892-1899. She decorated this vessel with sweet blue forget-me-nots in miniature, with exacting precision. The blossoms and leaves look as if they could be plucked from the surface, simply beautiful. The glaze colors are gorgeous in shaded deep chocolate brown over a honey golden amber and complementary colors in the decoration. This beauty is well marked with 8 flames, dating to 1894, along with its shape number 726, designation 'E'. Markland's initials S.M. are noted on the base, along with the Rookwood logo. This beautiful vessel is in original factory condition, with a couple of minute surface scratches. The shadows in the photos are from camera glare, the glaze finish is very uniform.  This charming vessel makes a gorgeous presentation!
