This Rookwood Standard Glaze ewer stands 6.5" high by 4.75" in diameter at its widest and 2.5" in diameter at the spout. It has a classic form, with a shapely handle and ruffled rim. It was decorated by Miss Josephine Ella Zettel, whose tenure at Rookwood was from 1892-1904. She decorated this vessel with a single yellow Wild Rose blossom and bud, with great precision. The glaze colors are gorgeous in shaded honey golden amber and chocolate brown, with superb artwork under a veil of glaze, simply beautiful. This beauty is well marked and dated 1893, based upon 7 flames around the Rookwood logo. Zettel's initials/cipher are noted on the base, along with its shape number 537F, and the letter 'W' for the clay color. This beautiful vessel is in original condition, no apologies. The shadows in the photos are from camera glare, the glaze finish is very uniform.  This ewer makes a beautiful presentation!
