This Rookwood Production vase stands 7.25" high by 4" in diameter at its widest, and 1.5" at the rim. It has a pleasing form, with a series of vertical lines eminating at the base to the collar, tapering to a narrow opening. This vessel was designed by Kataro Shirayamadani, one of Rookwood's most accomplished artists of the Arts & Crafts period. The vase is glazed in a rich rusty brown mat, which thins at the high points, accentuating the design most handsomely. It has a wonderfully masculine feel to it. This vase is well marked and it is dated 1913, shape number 1748. This vase is in factory original condition, no apologies.
