This Rookwood vase stands a squat 3.5" high by 4.5" in diameter. It has a squat cinched form, with a bulb-like hip. It was designed by Kataro Shirayamadani in 1926. It has a carved relief design with stylized leaves over the hip, and repeated vertical line impressions from the hip to the rim. This vase is glazed in a nice soft yellow glaze, finished to a satin mat. It is well marked on the base with the Rookwood logo, along with its shape number 2985, and dated 1929. It is in original factory condition, with some minimal peppering in the glaze, which can be seen in the photos.
