This Rookwood potpourri jar stands 4.25" high by 3.5" in diameter, 2.5" at the rim. It has a pleasing ball form by Rookwood's designer Rubin Earl Menzel. It has a beautifully reticulated outer lid which serves as its decoration, simple, yet elegant in its presentation. There is a small inner lid, which can be lifted to allow the scents to escape. It is glazed in a soft matrix green mat glaze that thins at the high points, accenting the form and design beautifully. This jar is well marked and it is dated 1930, along with its 50th Anniversary mark in an arc of hashmarks, shape number 1321E. It is in original condition, with a tiny factory-glazed stilt pull in the clay ring of the inner lid, which is of no consequence and mentioned simply for accuracy. This simple little bauble makes a beautiful presentation.
