This Rookwood Production pillow form planter stands 4.5" high by 8.5" across by 4" wide. It was made for the Rookwood Pottery's 70th Anniversary in 1950. It has a very pleasing and creative design, made up by leaves and blossoms. This vessel was designed by Kataro Shirayamadani, one of Rookwood's most accomplished artists, who spent his career at the Rookwood Pottery. The form has a fabulous Shiri Asian-inspired design, and there is no mistaking who designed it, pretty, pretty. It is glazed in a creamy ivory glaze on the exterior, with a soft yellow gloss glaze on the interior. An added bonus is that this planter is marked with Rookwood's 70th Anniversary kiln ink stamp on the base, along with its shape number 7049 and dated 1950. This Shirayamadani leaf form planter is in factory original condition, no apologies. This one will hug you coming out of the box!
