This Rookwood Ivory Jewel Porcelain vase stands 5.5" high by 4" in diameter, 2.5" at the rim. It has a simple, yet pleasing form. This beauty was decorated by Rookwood's own Lorinda Epply, a graduate of the Cincinnati Art Academy and Columbia University, who spent her career at Rookwood Pottery 1904-1948. She is well known for her Jewel Porcelain decorations. She decorated this vase with a stylized modern blossom motif, perhaps Pansies. She used a rich color palette, with browns and a blush of amber under the Ivory Jewel glaze, accentuating the artwork perfectly. This vase is well marked on the base, including Epply's cojoined cipher LE, and it is dated 1923. This vessel is in original condition, with just generalized factory crazing. This vessel makes a very rich and handsome presentation.
