This Rookwood Ivory Jewel Porcelain vessel stands a tall 10.5" high by 7" in diameter, cinched to 3" at the rim. It has a very handsome bulbous form, a design by John D. Wareham. It was decorated by Elizabeth Barrett, whose tenure at the Rookwood Pottery was from 1924-1948. This vase is impressively decorated with what appear to be 'Money Tree' blooms, which are flat and round like coins, hence the name. The Money Plant is known for both its pink and white flowers and its silver-dollar seed pods that are a wonderful addition to fall bouquets. This vase has brown branches with copious blooms in a soft pink, framed in brown in a cuerda seca style, pooling the glaze, which is covered in an ivory frost, all against a pink blushed underglaze, promarily noted at the rim, with a thick and heavy creamy white frost, overall. It has a glossy sheen. This pot begs to be touched, and it feels great in hand. It is shape number 6891, and it is dated 1945, along with the standard Rookwood cipher on the base. It bears Barrett's initials cipher, a cojoined stylized 'EB' on the base. This vase is in original factory condition, no apologies. This very unusually decorated vase by one of Rookwood's celebrated female artisans makes a very 'RICH' presentation, and it requires no water or attention!
