This Rookwood Ivory Jewel Porcelain lamp base stands a tall 11.75" high by 6" in diameter, tapering to 4.5" at the rim. It has a simple classic form, with a large palette for the decoration. It was decorated by Miss Margaret Helen McDonald, whose tenure at Rookwood was from 1913 to 1948. She decorated this beauty with Wheat Sheaves all around, covering the creamy white porcelain body with peachy-pink and orangy-brown sheaves swaying in the breeze, in a very handsome presentation. This lamp base is well marked with the Rookwood logo under the base. It has a factory hole, and is shape number 935B, dated 1940. McDonald's 'MHM cipher is noted among the wheat sheaves as shown in the images. This handsomely decorated lamp base is in fine original condition, with just minor splinters on the interior base hole for the wiring. Perhaps, it has served as a lamp for much of its life, but it could easily be displayed as a nice tall vase.
