This Rookwood Decorated Vellum vase stands 7.25" high by 3.5" in diameter, and 3.25" at the rim. It has a simple, yet handsome form, tapering slightly at the rim. It was decorated by Katherine Van Horne, whose tenure at the Rookwood Pottery was from 1907-1918. This vase is decorated with a garland of pink Daisy-like blossoms with yellow centers and grayish-green leaves cloaking the collar. It is glazed in a very simple creamy white ground with the grayish-green-hued leaves spilling over the rim. It has a satin mat finish. This pot is shape number 1865, and it is dated 1914, along with the standard Rookwood cipher on the base. It bears Van Horne's initials cipher, a cojoined stylized 'KVH' on the base. There is an 'X' on the base, but we see no reason for it. This vase is in original factory condition, no apologies. This very handsome vellum vase makes a simple, yet wonderful presentation!
