This impressive Rookwood Decorated Mat/Double Vellum Glaze vase stands 7" high by 5.5" in diameter, cinched to 3.75" at the rim. It has a classic form, swelling nicely at the midline. This vessel is decorated utilizing a double vellum glaze with stylized pink to red speckled blossoms, which are superbly executed. It was hand painted by one of Rookwood's prized female artists, Miss Lenore Asbury, who chose a beautiful palette of colors, in a lush buttercup yellow ground, with beautifully complementary colors in the blossoms and leaves. The double vellum glaze is fabulous on this pot. This vase is well marked, with the Rookwood logo and its 50th Anniversary Mark and dated 1931 in Roman Numerals. It bears Lenore Asbury's initials on the base, along with its shape number 915D. This beauty is in original condition, no apologies. If you like Lenore Asbury's art, this is a stunning example!
