This Rookwood Decorated Mat vase stands 7.5" high by 4" in diameter at the hip, and 2" at the rim. It has a beautifully statuesque form, very pleasing to the eye. This beauty is decorated with a trailing garland of blossoms and leaves from the lower neckline to the hip, with a luscious double vellum glaze. This decoration is by one of Rookwood's prized female artists, Miss Elizabeth Lincoln, who spent her art career at the Rookwood Pottery, from 1892-1931. She chose a rich palette of colors in a shaded light green at the rim transitioning to a colorful rose palette over the blossoms and green leaves, an finally to a lavender double vellum at the lower hip and base edge. This vase is well marked, dated 1927 in Roman Numerals, shape 2963, and initialed by Elizabeth Lincoln on the base 'L.N.L.'. This 'pretty-in-pink' vessel, which begs to be touched, is in factory original condition, no apologies, it's gorgeous!
