This Rookwood Decorated Mat vase stands 7" high by 4" in diameter. It has a pleasing full-bodied form, rather cylindrical, flaring slightly at the shoulder with a slanted cuffed rim. This vessel was decorated with beautiful blossoms and leaves, perhaps apple blossoms by Miss Delia Workham, whose tenure at Rookwood Pottery was 1927-1929. Best of all, she chose a bold color palette in a yellow ground with an unbelievably gorgeous over glaze in green, that is loaded with character, a stunning pot, for sure. This vase is well marked and it is dated 1927, shape number 2101, along with Workham's initials cipher. This beautiful vessel is in original condition, no apologies.
