This Rookwood Decorated Mat vase stands 7.5" high by 4.25" in diameter, and 3.25" at the rim. It has a classic corseted form. This vessel is decorated with stylized blossoms and leaves by one of Rookwood's prized female artists, Miss Louise Abel, whose tenure at Rookwod Pottery was 1919-1932. She chose a rich, deep blue ground with yellow star-like blossoms and green foliage. This vase is well marked, and dated 1925 in Roman Numerals, and it bears Louise Abel's cipher on the base. It is in original condition, no apologies. This vessel makes a wonderful Arts & Crafts presentation.
