This Rookwood Production cigar jar stands a tall 9" high by 5" in diameter. It has a very handsome Olde World-inspired form. This vessel was designed by Arthur Conant, one of Rookwood's very accomplished artists, who spent his career at the Rookwood Pottery. The form is simple, with a highly ornate reticulated crested finial lid. It is glazed in an organic yellow gloss glaze that thins at the high points, accenting the form and design beautifully. As a cigar jar, it has a wonderfully masculine presentation. This jar is well marked and it is dated 1940, shape number 6477. This handsome vessel is in factory original condition, no apologies.
