This Rookwood Carved Mat vase stands 6" high by 3" in diameter, by 2.25" at the rim. It has a simple, yet classic form, flaring slightly at the rim. This vessel is decorated with what appears to be a stylized band of geometric shapes around the collar. It was carved and decorated by one of Rookwood's prized female artists, Miss Elizabeth Lincoln, who chose a handsome palette of colors in a rich green glaze over the rim, transitioning to shaded brown underglazes, with the glazes flowing freely, and sluicing together in a magnificent presentation. This vase is well marked, dated 1920 in Roman Numerals, shape 1358F, and initialed by Elizabeth Lincoln on the base 'L.N.L.'. This handsome vessel is in factory original condition, no apologies.
