This Rookwood Carved Mat vase stands a respectable 8.25" high by 4" in diameter (3" at rim). It has a classic form, with a very handsome Arts & Crafts stylized and carved Daisy blossom motif. This vase was decorated by William Henschel, one of Rookwood's most accomplished artists of the Arts & Crafts period. It is glazed in a handsome mat green glaze over an ochre brown and is a glaze loaded with character. This very impressive vase is well marked with the Rookwood logo, along with its shape number 117D, and it is dated 1913, a great period for Henschel pots. Henschel's initials are also noted on the base. This exceptionally handsome vessel is in original condition, no apologies.
