This Rookwood Carved Mat Crucible Pitcher stands 4.25" high by 5" across the handle by 3.25" in diameter. It has a triangular form, with a carved band of pineapples at the collar by Rose Fechheimer, a well-respected Rookwood artist whose tenure at Rookwood was from 1897-1906. She was a graduate of the Cincinnati Art Academy as were many of Rookwood's artists. This vessel was designed by Pitts Harrison Burt in 1886. It is glazed in an organic green over brown mat glaze that thins at the high points, accenting the form and design beautifully. This pitcher is well marked and it is dated 1905, shape number 259E. This very handsome vessel is in factory original condition, no apologies.
