This Rookwood vessel stands 6.5" high by 6" in diameter. It has a very handsome barrel form, a design by John D. Wareham. It was decorated by Elizabeth Barrett, whose tenure at the Rookwood Pottery was from 1924-1948. This vase is decorated very simply in thick brown glaze with frothy white drip glazes in a somewhat random pattern, which presents as if this were a wooden barrel, in which the glazes follow a pattern of the wood panels. It has a glossy sheen. This pot is shape number 6878, and it is dated 1945, along with the standard Rookwood cipher on the base. It bears Barrett's initials cipher, a cojoined stylized 'EB' on the base. This vase is in original factory condition, no apologies.
