  • This Rookwood Production vase stands 5" high by 4.5" across the handles by 4" in diameter at the rim. It has a pleasing Art Deco form, with long side-hugging handles from tip to toe. This vessel was designed by Kataro Shirayamadani, one of Rookwood's most accomplished artists. The vase is glazed in a rich rusty orangy-brown on the exterior and a pale yellow on the interior, in a glossy sheen. It has a wonderful Art Deco look. This vase hails from Rookwod's 50th Anniversary period from 1930-1931, dated 1931. It is well marked with the 50th Anniversary impressed hash tag marks, shape number 6248. This vase is in factory original condition, with a two-skip in the glaze on the flat topside rim, which we show in the photos. It does not bear an 'X', so it didn't bother them. This small Art Deco bauble makes a striking presentation.
