This wonderfully hand-blown art glass vase was hand-crafted by Paul Bendzunas. Bendzunas Glass is a working studio and gallery, located in scenic Comer, GA. Their artists are led by Master Glassblower Paul Bendzunas who has over 40 years of experience. Paul has led his family in the art; all three of his children, Elizabeth, Paul R., and George are accomplished artists and work in the glass studio, continuing the tradition. This vase is an early design from 2001, dated '01' on the bottom, along with Paul Bendzunas' signature. Bendzunas works in art glass, so each of his designs are a one-step process, taken from conception to completion while working with molten glass, amazing! This vessel is decorated with a family of elephants, one follows the other over a beautifully visual terrain, like a swirling savanna, simply a stunning work of art. It measures 6" high by 4.5" in diameter. It is finished off at the rim with a nice thick collar of glass. The glass colors are beautifully complementary and his design of the elephants, encased in a thick vessel of glass is nothing short of amazing, this man is a wonderful talent, a true American Craftsman. This vessel is in original studio condition, no apologies.
