This impressive Orient & Flume paperweight measures 2.5" high by 3" in diameter, and weighs 1lb, 9 oz. It has a rounded form and it is adorned with stylized Peacock feathers, which are aligned, akin to a blossom, in design. It has a fine, subtle pulled feather design below the feathers. The colors are stunning in turquoise blues, deep purples and green and white accents. This paperweight is marked Orient & Flume on the base, along with the date 1981 and code 65A. It is in excellent condition, no blemishes.
The artists at the Orient and Flume Studio have been designing and creating fine Art Glass in Northern California since 1972. The Studios' designers include Bruce Sillars, Scott Beyers, Chris Sherwin, William Carter and Richard Braley. Artists at the Orient and Flume Studio work individually or in collaboration to design and produce this beautiful glass. Drawn from nature, most Orient and Flume designs echo a common theme. Each artist, however enjoys the creative freedom to develop their own unique style.
