This Newcomb College pitcher stands 5" high by 4.5" across the handle by 3" in diameter. It has a classic pitcher form, shape #207, with a finely executed design. It is decorated in the 'Espanol' pattern, which has a nicely carved trellis design. This pitcher is decorated in a signature Newcomb style, but we cannot see the initials. We were told it was by Henrietta Bailey, which is certainly possible, but we do not see any initials except for 'JM' for the potter Joseph Meyer. It is marked with its shape number 207, which is clearly a Newcomb form, and design, so we guarantee it to be authentic Newcomb College. This pitcher is glazed in a gorgeous deep lavender ground, with rose and green accents in its design. This vessel is finished to a satin matte glaze. This beauty is in original condition, with the usual glaze nuances common to Newcomb pots. If you like Newcomb College Pottery, you just found a keeper.
