This Marvin Bailey pot stands 7.5" high by 8" across the handles by 6" in diameter.  Marvin Bailey is a self-taught potter from South Carolina.  He works in the southern folk pottery traditions, digs his own clay and has been making pots for nearly 30 years, along with his wife Lynn.  This vase has a hand-turned ribbed body with twin handles.  It is glazed in a reddish brown glaze and spattered in a silvery charcoal over glaze, a very nice glaze effect.  This vase is marked on the base and it is in original studio condition, with a no harm glazed-over clay seam in one handle as shown in the photos.
