This Marvin Bailey pot stands 7" high by 6" in diameter.  Marvin Bailey is a self-taught potter from South Carolina.  He works in the southern folk pottery traditions, digs his own clay and has been making pots for nearly 30 years, along with his wife Lynn.  This vase has a hand-turned ribbed body and it is glazed in a reddish brown glaze, which thins at the high points, a nice glaze effect.  This vase is marked on the base and it is in original studio condition, no apologies.
