This impressive JB Cole/Waymon Cole attributed vessel stands 9.25" high by 7.25" in diameter, and a rim opening of 4.25". It has a classic JB Cole/Waymon Cole form, with a full bodied vase with fabulous loop handles at its sides, signature handles for J.B. Cole and his son Waymon. The Cole family has a rich and celebrated history of throwing pots, a tradition that continues today. J.B and Waymon pots are prized and this one likely dates to c1930s-40s. Best of all, it is glazed in an awesome chrome red glaze, which is loaded with character, very drippy, a killer pot, overall. This very handsome vessel is unmarked, showing just the usual hand swipe over the glaze on the underside. We have had a similar form in a JB Cole chrome red glaze, so we believe it is a JB Cole pot, but Waymon also made handles like his father, so either way, it's a winner. It is in excellent condition, with a very good restoration to a single rim chip, and the usual glaze nuances common to hand-thrown pots. This is a nice 1930s-1940s pot and it makes a great Arts & Crafts presentation!
