This impressive Hampshire Pottery vase stands 6" high by 4.25" in diameter, and 3" in diameter at the rim. It has a very simple, yet handsome form with a tapered rim. It is a quality pot with a wonderful heft in hand. Best of all, this vase is glazed in an experimental/trial Hampshire signature killer mat brown/cream mottled broken glaze, which is the best glaze we've ever encountered by Hampshire Pottery. It is well marked 'Hampshire Pottery' on the base, along with its shape number 18/2, along with the 'M' in a circle mark made by Cadman Robertson, a mark honoring his wife Emoretta Robinson for managing the Pottery's storefront. Emoretta was the sister to the Pottery's founder James Taft. Additionally, there is a code, with a series of numbers and letters in blue slip on the underside, clearly a code for the glaze formula, which we believe is likely an experimental or trial glaze. This vessel is in original condition, no apologies. It makes a stellar Arts & Crafts presentation, with a killer glaze!
