This French Faience wallpocket measures 13" high by 6" across by 4" deep. It is hand decorated with a floral motif and a single butterfly. It is made of clay, porcelain in quality with a French Faience glaze. The artist initials appear to be H.C.Z., and the mark is noted in the artwork. The interior is hand painted in a creamy white Faience glaze, and the exterior is glazed in a mottled blue glaze. The form is a folded cone shape with a ruffled edge. There are block porcelain bars on the backside to hold the pocket off the wall, and there are hanger holes. This pocket is signed by the artist, in slip, which looks like H.C.Z. or K.C.Z., hard to tell. This more than 100 year-old wallpocket is in excellent restored condition with expert repairs to minor surface edge chips on the ruffle edges. It presents beautifully.
