This lovely pyrography tray measures just shy of 1" high by 9.25" across by 3.25" wide. It was likely produced by the Flemish Art Company in New York at the turn of the last century. It is a nice early Flemish tray, with a gorgeous deeply carved Poppies/Leaves motif. There is a finely burnished/carved pattern over the entire tray, including the bottom, as can be seen in the photos. The original patina is a very rich, beautiful brown. The sides of the tray are interlocked and the joins appear tight. This tray does not bear the Flemish mark, if it was marked the burnishing pyrography on the underside covers it. It is in original condition, with a darker staining on one edge as shown in the photos, and just normal handling wear from many years of use. This vintage tray makes a very rich Arts & Crafts presentation.
