This handsome oval plaque dated 1908 measures 19" across by 13" high by three-ply thickness. It was produced by the Flemish Art Company in New York at the turn of the last century. It is a nice early plaque, with a gorgeous deeply carved image of two pups, which present like a lab or Spaniel, framed by a motif of pomegranates or figs and leaves. The original patina is a beautiful rich brown. It has a metal tab at the top for hanging. It is in original condition, with the usual no harm natural wood grain lines, along with just normal wear from being a ripe old age of 100+ years. This plaque is marked on the backside, shape 882, and it bears the artist's signature, which reads 'Magenta H. Boss 1908', which is great to have the artist's name, and a date as well. This vintage plaque makes a very handsome Arts & Crafts presentation.
