This handsome large oval plaque measures 20.5" high by 9" across by three-ply thickness.  It was produced by the Flemish Art Company in New York at the turn of the last century.  It is a nice early plaque, with a gorgeous deeply carved image of a young Dutch girl carrying a milk pitcher in one hand and a basket in the other. It is entitled 'Mother's Help'. This plaque is jeweled with colored stones, two of which are long gone, but probably easy enough to replace.  The original patina is a beautiful rich brown and it has polychrome colors on her kerchief cap and dress.  It has a metal tab at the top for hanging.  It is in original condition, with the usual no harm natural wood grain lines and splits, along with just normal wear from being a ripe old age of 100+ years.  This plaque is marked on the backside, shape 953. This vintage plaque makes a very sweet Arts & Crafts presentation.
