This Fire Island paperweight measures 3.5" high by 2.75" in diameter, and weighs 1lb. It has a tall form, with a flat front side, which gives a view of Mt. Shasta, a volcanic mountain in California.  It has a purplish/ruby core, with a veiled white halo, which looks like it is blushed with stardust.  There are deep purple color lines on the glass from tip to toe. This paperweight is signed Fire Island, which was a Glass Studio from Austin, Texas, which closed in 2007.  This weight is also marked Mt. Shasta, and bears the name P. Fain, along with the date '88'.  It has a waffle base. It is in excellent condition, no blemishes.
