This beautiful Clark House vase by Bill and Pam Clark of Greenville, SC stands a monumental 18" high by 8" across the handles by 6" at the base diameter and 4.5" in diameter at the rim. It has an awesome vase form that is turned and pleated near the base and collar, framing the body of the vessel, which is accented with wild looped and strapped handles, just a great studio pot in the style of George Ohr. According to the George Ohr Museum website, 'Bill Clark began his journey in art pottery on a potter’s wheel in the back of the art room at Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio in 1967. While in San Antonio he had the privilege to assist in the studio of Harding Black, a potter renowned for his beautiful glazes. Bill listened about all things pottery and especially glaze formulations. He went on to study at Newcomb Art School. After being introduced to George Ohr pottery by David Rago, Bill’s passion was ignited to teach himself the secrets and lost techniques used by George to make the folds and ruffles.' Bill's passion for George Ohr has extended to the entire Ohr clan. Bill and Pam Clark have become close friends with the Ohr family, if they could adopt them, they probably would! This vessel is glazed in a wonderful combination of rich copper and bronze-like glazes. It is well marked on the base, with the Clark House cipher, LLC ink stamp and Clark's signature incised into the clay, and guaranteed to be authentic Clark House Pottery. This vase is in studio original condition, no apologies. If you collect the Clarks' pots, this very large pot is a beauty! Shipping will be determined based upon your zip code because of its large size. If questions please ask.
