This Brush McCoy Owl decanter stands a tall 11" high by 5" across by 5" wide. His form is that of an owl with a cap at the top, which serves as the opening for the decanter, and his domed perch was designed to hold a music box, which is no longer present. This guy was from a design line, which included other forms, including a wallpocket, a clock, vases, etc. It was a popular line, which utilized very organic glazes in a soft satin finish. He is glazed in brown and cream, and stands on a green dome, all in a satin matte glaze, with subtle markings. He has a wonderful face, with black eyes peering out in search of prey. This handsome guy is unmarked, except for the words 'Patent Applied For', but he is unmistakeably Brush McCoy and he is in very good condition, with a glaze flake inside the dome below, some factory crazing and glaze nuances, including several skips, bubble bursts, etc., all shown in the photos. The inner cap has a shallow chip and crazing, and its original cork remains intact. Overall, he has a very organic and woodsy style. He makes a very handsome presentation, guaranteed to make you smile!
