This charming and playful Wheeling tile measures 4.25" square. It depicts an elephant playing a drum. It has a tube-lined style and likely is part of a series by the Wheeling Tile Company in the late 1930s into the 40s. It is glazed in bright and beautiful colors on a creamy ground, and piped in black at the edges. It is finished in a soft matte. This fun tile is in near original condition with just a couple of no harm glaze flecks at the tile edges, as shown in the photos. There are no chips or cracks. It is marked Wheeling on the back of the tile. This tube-lined tile presents beautifully.
