This Royal Doulton 'Woodcut' vase stands 8" high by 3.5" in diameter. It has a shapely, bulb form. The 'Woodcut' line was developed around 1920. The glaze is a flambe glaze in a rich red, sang-de-boeuf or oxblood glaze, accented with rich, deep black in the woodcut, in a fabulous presentation! It is decorated in a handsome landscape with a bird hunter and his dog prominently centered on both sides.  This vessel is marked Royal Doulton Flambe, 'Woodcut', number 1612, and dates to the early 1920s.  It is in excellent condition, with an old restoration to a small chip on the rim. This impressive landscape 'Woodcut' flambe-glazed vessel is quite handsome.
