This Rookwood Decorated/Painted Mat vase stands 6" high by 5" in diameter. It has a classic shouldered form. This vessel is decorated with drippy stylized blossoms and leaves by one of Rookwood's prized female artists, Miss Louise Abel, who chose a rich palette of colors, starting with a rich rosey ground, dusted in a feathered and blushed mossy green glaze, with blue blossoms and green foliage. This vase is well marked, and dated 1928 in Roman Numerals, and it bears Louise Abel's cipher on the base. It is in excellent condition, with a very good restoration to a bruise on the collar, like an unchipped chip. This vessel makes a wonderful Arts & Crafts presentation.
