This early Rick Wisecarver ball vase stands jusy shy of 7" high by 7.5" in diameter. It is dated 12.05.83. It has a handsome full-bodied ball form, with a rolled rim. It is decorated in Wisecarver's signature style, in a rich standard glaze, with a beautiful bird perched in a branch with a cluster of leaves, which present like Autumn. This wonderful vessel is glazed in organic brown and amber glazes, with a wonderfully handsome palette of colors in the artwork. It is finished to a glossy sheen. This vase is signed on the underside 'Wihoa's SheZane Critters', and dated 12.05.83 (1983). This handsome early Wisecarver vase is in original studio condition, with a couple of glaze skips on the lower edge just as it rolls to the under base. there is a seam in the same area clearly in the making, along with the usual glaze nuances common to Wisecarver's pots because they were all handmade vessels. This early Wisecarver ball vase makes a very handsome presentation.
