This Jugtown ovoid vase stands 4.25" high by 5" in diameter. This vessel has a classic ovoid form with a small opening at the rim. It is glazed in Jugtown's signature Frogskin glaze, which is a fabulous speckled deep green over a medium mossy green glaze, in a very handsome presentation. This hand-thrown pot has the usual glaze nuances common to hand-made southern pots, glaze separations and the like, all shown in the photos. This vase is marked on the base with the earlier Jugtown mark, indicating that it dates from c1923-59. There appear to be a couple of other marks, but they are hard to decipher. We've shown several images of the base, so perhaps someone can add to our information. This vessel is in original studio condition, no apologies.
