This set of Fulper Pottery 'Sleepy Reader' bookends stand 5.75" high by 4.5" across by 5.5" wide. They have a charming form with a young boy or girl who has fallen into slumber while reading a book, with their spectacles propped on their forehead. They are glazed in a signature Fulper green and charcoal glaze finished in a semi-matte. One bookend is a shade lighter than the other.  This set of bookends is marked with a Fulper oval racetrack ink stamp on the base of one, dating these to 1917-1934. This set of bookends was well-loved.  They are in excellent condition, with a very good restoration to a very small surface corner chip on the edge of one book.  They make a very sweet and charming presentation!
