This Fulper RAFCO jar with its lid measures 4.5" high by 4" in diameter. We've had many of these jars over the years, but this is the first time we've had one with a lid. This jar is glazed in a Fulper rich blue crystalline flambe glaze. The lid is more heavily crystallized than the jar, but it fits, so perhaps the lid was fired separately, producing a different glaze effect, it's anyone's guess. This jar is marked with the Rafco incised mark circa 1916-1922, made by the Fulper Pottery, probably a promotional item, not unlike the earlier Prang pieces. It is in overall good condition, with a chip under the lid, which can barely be seen at eye level from the exterior, and is well shown in the photos. The shadow marks are from camera glare, the finish is a glossy sheen.
