This Fulper covered box cover hails from an era when covered candy dishes and powderboxes were all the rage. If you were around during the 40s-60s, you probably recall fancy candy dishes, and powder boxes. Candy boxes were on nearly every sofa table and powderboxes on women's dressing tables. This covered box stands 5" high by 6.5" in diameter. It is one of a number of designs by the Fulper Pottery, a 'porcelaine' novelty line piece. It was designed in fabulous Art Deco style. This cover is in the form of a a bouquet or cluster of Art Deco blossoms, very rich and vibrant in color. This box is finished to a mix of satin matte and semi-matte accents in the colors. This box is well marked with its Fulper racetrack, along with Martin Stangl's 'MS' cipher, and it is guaranteed to be vintage Fulper, from their 'Porcelaine' line. It is in near original condition, with just a tiny glaze flake on the cover lower side edge in a blossom as shown in the photos. It is not apparent unless you look for it. This lovely covered box makes a pretty, pretty Art Deco presentation!
