This Fulper Vaz bowl stands 6.75" high by 9" in diameter, a rather large bowl. It has a handsome rounded form, with a buttressed center ring, which rises above the bowl, and serves to hold a bouquet of blossoms, a very clever design, in a nice Arts & Crafts presentation. This Vaz bowl is glazed in a wonderfully organic glaze, black and oatmeal thick, gloppy glaze, laced with blue streaks. It is marked with the Fulper incised racetrack mark, dating it to circa 1917-1927. It is in excellent condition, with the usual glaze nuances common to Fulper pots. We were told it may have had a restoration to one of the buttress handles, but we cannot find it. The glaze is very organic, and perhaps forgiving. In any case, this vessel makes an awesome Arts & Crafts presentation!
